On the morning of 23 January 2014, Shandong Lisheng Group’s 2013 year-end review and 2014 business-goals conference was successfully held in the fourth-floor conference room. Chairman Gao Fengguo, General Manager Gao Fengshe, and managers at director level and above from the group’s companies, grain depots and centres — including winners of the “Innovation Unit,” “Innovation Individual” and “Outstanding Manager” awards — attended.
General Manager Gao Fengshe presented “The 2014 Enterprise Development Strategy and Work-Goals Plan.” He said the group would extend its industry chain vertically and broaden its product structure horizontally, forming a pattern based on flour processing and extending into deep food processing — steadily expanding into convenience foods, frozen foods, snack foods and health foods. Building on process innovation and optimised production flow, it would upgrade products and expand scale, pursue “going out” and “bringing in” strategies, and conduct capital operations: expanding capacity through self-construction, mergers and reorganisation; introducing world-class strategic partners and joint-venture platforms to lead outward-looking development; and using its capital strengths to develop related fields. The aim is a sound pattern of prominent core business with diversified, mutually supporting growth — improving governance, internal control and financial management, growing in strength, and gradually moving toward the capital market and a public listing, building a first-class, well-managed, sustainable listed food group.
The general managers and centre directors then summarised their 2013 work and reported their 2014 plans, showing a clear-eyed view of past shortcomings and clear thinking on the year’s goals. As innovation and management are the group’s driving force, the conference commended the “Innovation Units,” “Innovation Individuals” and “Outstanding Managers” of 2013 and called on all staff to learn from them.
Finally, Chairman Gao Fengguo addressed the conference. He affirmed the achievements of the companies, centres and depots in technical upgrading, enterprise management, sales, finance, grain storage, production-quality management, informatisation and human resources, and frankly pointed out gaps in goal management, corporate culture, sense of responsibility, innovation awareness, human resources and product R&D. “Strategy decides direction; details decide success or failure,” he said. “Problems are not to be feared — as long as we recognise them clearly and dare to face them, any problem will be resolved gradually in the course of development.” He looked ahead to 2014: expanding production, optimising the organisation, deepening reform, strengthening unified leadership, improving quality to provide consumers with assured safe food, doing marketing well, expanding markets, building a first-class management team putting people first, leveraging national policy to develop agriculture, deepening food processing, and ultimately forming Lisheng’s distinctive corporate culture. He warmly thanked all employees for a year of hard work and wished them and their families a happy New Year. The conference was a complete success.
